After yellow ribbons, RP flags line Manila streets

05/29/10 - After yellow ribbons during the campaign period, Philippine flags have started to adorn Manila's main streets.

The flags appeared early this week, a month before the nation marks its 112th Independence Day on June 12.

Several flags were placed on bridges in the city, while others were arranged and placed on lampposts along major roads in the city.

But while the flags "replaced" most of the yellow ribbons in the city, many yellow ribbons remained tied to trees especially in the Intramuros area.

During the last campaign period, yellow ribbons were tied along major roads of the city.
